Rob Roy made three changes for the derby against Kilsyth Rangers bring in McInally, Moore and Hughes.
Rabs should have raced into a three minute lead when home keeper O'Boyle's clearance landed at Moores feet at the edge of the penalty box but with only the keeper to beat the striker blasted well past the post. In Kilsyth's first raid Lennox did well to block a fierce Tough shot. Hughes set up Moore who brought out a fine save from O'Boyle then at the other end a long Scott cross found the head of Tough but Bell was equal to it.
From a MacDonald freekick Anderson raced down the left wing but was too strong with his cross and it went over the bar. In the thirty third minute Rabs suffered an injury blow when Moore limped off having suffered a hamstring injury to be replaced by Mackie. A minute later Hughes latched on to a powerful Bell clearance but his final effort drifted wide. Before the half time break Rabs were enjoying the bulk of the play without troubling the Rangers defence to any extent. Lennox headed into the side netting and Carberry's snap shot from outside the box was easily taken by O'Boyle.

Verdict;- Not a great of football, for spells it was scrappy, Rabs had the bulk of the play but their finishing was woeful. It was game inwhich could have been played until the cows came home and neither side would have scored.
Ref Watch;- An easy game for Referee Nicholl to control without any major decisions to make. There can be little complaints over his four bookings. A good refereeing performance by the experienced whistler. |
